Founded in 2021 by Jason Owens, the Franklin High School Lightning Band Boosters provides volunteer assistance and fundraising to help support the Franklin High School music program.

Currently, we have approximately 190 student musicians participating in 3 separate bands (Wind Ensemble, Symphonic and Concert Band) as well as Jazz and Percussion ensembles. All of the students come together to play in the Pep band during assemblies and sporting events. The Franklin Lightning Band received the Gold Standard during the 2025 Grand Floral Parade. Lightning Band musicians have also auditioned for and been accepted into the Western International Band Clinic (WIBC) held in Seattle annually, and the All City Honor Band.

The Lightning Band Boosters is a parent led organization who are dedicated to raising awareness of student musician accomplishments in the community, provide funding for travel and competition fees for every student who participates in the band program, and ensure equity in participation for each band student. One hundred percent of the funding raised by the booster organization is used to benefit our musicians and the Franklin Lightning Band.

The Lightning Band Boosters is a federally recognized non-profit organization.
